About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced General Practitioner to support clients, their families, and the broader community improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for those on Gumbaynggirr lands.

You will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality primary health care from pre-conception to old-age.  We support a patient centred, whole of person wellbeing approach across this lifespan, where “health” is not just the absence of disease. There is a focus on providing up-to-date evidence informed care and the prevention, early detection and management of long term health challenges around physical social and emotional wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to explore particular areas of interest within the primary health environment supported by a truly diverse multidisciplinary team.

Benefits and Perks

A competitive salary package with a base salary negotiable based on experience and the ability to salary sacrifice up to $31,177 as a PBI organisation. Additional benefits include

  • 11% superannuation;
  • Additional 5 days sick leave per year;
  • Additional leave for NAIDOC and Christmas; and
  • Additional 10 days paid study leave per year.

Whilst the role is advertised as full time there is scope to negotiate an adaptable roster based on personal situation and caring responsibilities.  Galambila is open between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.  There are no after hours or weekend rosters.

Written communication: Writes accurate, succinct reports and ensures client notes are detailed and recorded efficiently.

Desirable

Experience in an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service

Previous experience and a desire to develop less experienced medical practitioners including those undertaking General Practitioner specialisation

 

Qualifications

It is a pre-requisite for the following qualification:

  • Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine; or
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

 

Registration

The successful applicant must be AHPRA Registered through the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner including specialisation as a General Practitioner.
