The NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) supports Aboriginal health organisations by providing:
- GP recruitment and retention services to Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) and Other Aboriginal Health Services.
- Funds for health professionals including GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health providers and medical specialists to provide health outreach clinics in areas with significant Aboriginal populations.
- GP locum support.
- Partnerships with the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) in joint medical workforce initiatives.
- Aboriginal Medical Service Manual, compiled by the AH&MRC and RDN to enable ACCHSs to develop or revise policies and procedures for their medical services, and to assist those who wish to move towards and through the accreditation process.
