Doctor Lucas Booth has worked with people for his entire career. He commenced his career in health and the community sector in 1997 as a field worker with Home Care Services of NSW and as a support worker in Casino and Lismore.  In 2001 Lucas commenced as a trainee Enrolled Nurse in Kempsey District Hospital and then went on to complete his Diploma of Nursing in 2002 at Gold Coast TAFE.  In 2004 Lucas went back to university and completed his Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Cross University. During this time, he completed a Bachelor of Social Science via Southern Cross University, majoring in human services and human resource development.

Lucas has worked as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals including Kempsey District Hospital, Coffs Harbour Base Hospital, Gold Coast Hospital, as well as working in custodial settings in Kempsey and remote areas of the Kimberly, WA.   Lucas completed his Graduate Certificate of Mental Health Nursing in 2008 and worked in various roles in mental health as a registered nurse, clinical nurse specialist and clinical nurse consultant.  In 2012 he decided it was time to go back to university to study medicine, completing a Bachelor of Medicine with distinction in 2018 through the University of Newcastle.  From 2019 – 2021 Lucas completed his internship, residency and then completed advance skills in emergency medicine as a rural generalist registrar at Macksville and Coffs Harbour Hospitals, prior to commencing his specialist training as a General Practitioner.

Today Dr Booth has achieved his specialist registration as a General Practitioner with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.   A massive congratulations to Dr Booth for his hard work and efforts.  You are an inspiration to us all.
