We have a range of programs designed to create a healthy and empowered mob.
Ready.Quit.Solid. is our new regional Tackling Indigenous Smoking program. Galambila is working in partnership with Awabakal and Bullinah Aboriginal Health Services to disrupt smoking and vaping rates across our communities. Our name was chosen to respect our past programs delivering our health promotion messages in our respective areas.
Activities that our Ready.Quit.Solid. team focus on include:

Starting as a joint initiative on the Mid North Coast Area Health, the Spring into Shape program improves the lives of those that have been diagnosed with some form of chronic disease.
The aim is to deliver a weekly exercise and nutrition 12-week program to promote a healthy lifestyle and to help manage stress in a better way.
The program offers a safe, fun and supportive environment to participants in a range of activities, including cooking classes with a qualified nutritionist, some gentle workouts and health information sessions with a personal trainer over the duration of the program.
You will need to complete a Health assessment and be referred by one of our doctors to be a part of this fantastic program.
Elder’s Health Days are held on the third Monday of every month at the Coffs Harbour Botanical gardens from 10am to 2pm. This day is all about bringing together Aboriginal Elders to discuss a range of healthy lifestyle topics in a safe and fun environment.
Each month services from within the region are invited to come along to discuss what they can offer to the community. Transport is also available to ensure our Elders don’t miss out. For further information please call our friendly reception team on 6652 0800.
In 2023, Galambila received funding from NACCHO for a new National Suicide Prevention program known as Culture Care Connect.
This program aims to support people who have attempted suicide or are thinking about suicide. We employed a Manager to start the program implementation process and we have expanded to include a Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker and two Aboriginal Wellbeing Workers. The team delivers services in a safe environment, with culturally appropriate care coordination and support, and linkages to different aspects of treatment.
